Here I am posting a Collectoin of Softwares that i commonly use for the purpose of converting videos into various formats. Since i am no expert, there might be some softwares which maybe better than those mentioned below, but i’ve selected these few based on my experiences with video converting. If you know of any software which might be better than those below and easier to use, please do share with us.
This is my first post of My Favorites Collection. Soon i’ll be posting more such collections of softwares related to Audio, Images, Security, Browsing, etc.

K-Lite Codec Pack v5.10
Unless you are using some other Codec Pack, this is a must have Codec Pack for everyone. After installing this Codec Pack, you will be able to watch almost every video format without any problems, whether it be AVI, WMV, MPG, 3GP, MP4, MKV, RM, MOV, DIVX, FLV etc.
Also, u can use the Media Player Classic that comes with this Pack to view all your Videos, and also create Screenshots and Caps of your videos (if u have problem making screenshots, go to View->Options->Playback->Output->Select VMR7 From DirectShow

VSO ConvertXtoDVD v.3.32
The Best software to convert any video format to DVD format, and its also really easy to use. You can also select if u want to Add DVD Menus, Add 2 or even 3 Movies in a single DVD (would have to compromise on the quality then). And u can also add subtitles.

The Name of the Software says it all. A really easy to use software to convert almost all Video formats to IPOD/MP4/3GP/PSP formats.

Total Video Converter v3.50
In case the Video Converting Softwares mentioned above dont work for you, try this software. It can be said that this is an All in One Video Converter, can convert almost ANY video format to ANY video format you want. It can also be used to extract Audio from the Video. A very good software, but might not give the best quality. Do try this one though.

Video Watermark Factory v.1.0
This is the best software i’ve used for Adding Watermark to your Videos. Gives u a few options as to where u want to place the watermark, adjust its size, transparency, u can also add an image as a watermark if you want.

Ultra Video Joiner v.3.6.2
Although i hardly require joining videos, but when i do, i use this software. Supports most of the video formats. If it doesnt, i first use one of the converters above to convert to a format it supports, then use it to join the vids.

Xilisoft Video Cutter v1.0.26
When you need to cut videos, this is a good software that can be used. You can also use Total Video Converter to cut videos but this software offers more options while cutting. If this doesn’t work for you, try the K-Lite Conversion Pack (not added here, but u can find it easily as its a freeware)
